LGV Training

CPC has been designed to improve the knowledge and skills of professional drivers.  Drivers wishing to drive commercially will need to attend 35 hours of training which has been divided into 7 hour modules.

CSCS/Health & Safety in a Construction Environment

We can offer a number of training options for those requiring CSCS and/or The level 1 award in Health & Safety in a construction Enviroment

One day Training?

Our 1 day Health & Safety course prepares you for the Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment, provided by the British Safety Council. This qualification gives people who are already working, or wanting to work, in the construction industry, the essential knowledge to manage health and safety.

We also pleased to announce that our Bristol Training Centre at The Beeches hotel has been approved as a Pearson VUE test centre. This means we can provide a range of CITB exams, including the Operatives test.


Full CSCS Training (3 day course)

If you have some experience of construction but still require training, the 3 day course is perfect for you. We will prepare you for your British Safety Council and CITB exams, which you can take at the training centre. We will also apply for the CSCS Labourer card for you, which is included in the cost of the course.


Maths is used in all aspects of our lives from work to everyday. Poor numeracy is estimated to cost the UK economy £20.2 billion every year (Pro Bono Economics Research) (link to this site https://www.nationalnumeracy.org.uk/cost-outcomes-associated-low-levels-adult-numeracy-uk-2014) which is about 1.3% of the UK’s GDP. Of this £20.2 billion, 3.2 billion is a cost to employers. To build a strong economy the UK needs a fully numerate population, this course will help improve your staff’s numerical ability.

The functional skills course is available at a range of levels, up to level 2, which is equivalent of Grades A-C at GCSE. This will include topics such as:

  • Number
  • Measure
  • shape and space
  • Data understanding and skills


There are many areas that are important within the workplace when it comes to literacy skills. These include:

  • Fully understand written procedures (e.g. for using equipment, machinery, or administrative processes)
  • Complete day-to-day paperwork without errors (e.g. end of shift reports, Health & Safety reports; activity logs)
  • Respond in writing (e.g. by letter or email) to queries or complaints from clients, colleagues or sub-contractors.
  • Communicate verbally with clients, colleagues or sub-contractors.

Personal Licence Holders

Who is this course for?

This qualification is aimed at individuals working in, or preparing to work in, any industry that involves the retail sale of alcohol. Anyone wishing to sell or authorise the sale of alcohol by retail on licensed premises must hold a personal licence.

How long will it take?

To complete this qualification, learners should expect to undertake 8 hours of learning

Topics covered

These include the nature, purpose and period of validity of a personal licence, the application process and legal duties when applying for a personal licence, the legal duties of a personal licence holder, the roles, responsibilities and functions of licensing authorities, the nature and strength of alcohol and the effect on the body and the law in relation to premises licences.

Assessment method

This qualification is assessed by a multiple-choice examination.
