Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) was created in the mid-90s with the aim of improving construction site workers’ competence in order to reduce accidents and drive up efficiency. Passing this will mean that you can demonstrate to employers an agreed high level of occupational competence, making you more employable within the sector. Since July 2014 is it now a requirement that you have a health and safety qualification at level 1 and pass the CSCS test to be able to apply for a 5 year Labourers card (Green CSCS.)
During this course, you will:
Working on a building site requires you to hold a CSCS card. If you are planning or have a career in the building or construction industry it is a must have to enter any site. This course is suitable for anyone who is thinking of changing career into the building or construction industry, or a career that involves site work e.g. industrial cleaner, site security etc.
Throughout your course, your tutor will assess your knowledge through a series of informal question and answer sessions. Your final assessment will be two multiple-choice online tests
Gaining this qualification will be the first step to you applying for a CSCS Green card which opens doors to a career in the building or construction industry.
